This Privacy Policy explains how Cancel Order Platform collects, uses, stores, and shares merchant and customer information when merchants use the app with Shopify.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to merchant information and limited customer-related information processed through CancelSafe in connection with Shopify storefront cancellation flows, verification workflows, support-case workflows, and merchant-enabled integrations.
For customer data collected through a merchant's Shopify store, the merchant remains responsible for its own store notices, customer disclosures, and legal obligations. CancelSafe acts as a service provider or processor for app-related operations.
Information we collect
We may collect merchant information such as shop domain, settings, workflow configuration, integration configuration, support requests, and operational preferences needed to provide the app.
We may process customer and order-related information such as order number, order identifiers, customer email address, customer phone number, shipping country, selected cancellation reason, verification metadata, and related timestamps when required for app functionality.
We may also process technical and operational information such as request logs, troubleshooting logs, anti-abuse records, and service diagnostics.
How we use information
Information is used to identify eligible orders, apply merchant cancellation rules, operate OTP or email-based verification, create merchant support-case records, trigger merchant-enabled integrations, and provide the functionality described in the app listing.
We also use information to maintain service reliability, detect abuse, investigate errors, and respond to merchant support requests.
How information is shared
Information may be shared with service providers and subprocessors that support operation of the app, including hosting providers, database providers, logging providers, CAPTCHA or verification providers, OTP providers, and merchant-enabled systems such as CRM or email automation providers.
Information is shared only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the app or a merchant-enabled workflow.
Subprocessor details: Set SUBPROCESSORS_URL in your environment if you want to publish a dedicated subprocessor list.
Retention and deletion
Merchant settings are retained so the app can continue to function for each installed store. Verification records, troubleshooting data, and operational records may be retained for only as long as necessary to operate the app and satisfy legal, contractual, or security requirements.
When a merchant uninstalls the app or requests deletion, CancelSafewill handle app-controlled data in accordance with applicable law, Shopify platform requirements, and legitimate legal, contractual, or security needs.
Security
CancelSafe uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect merchant and customer-related information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss.
No system can guarantee absolute security, and merchants remain responsible for appropriate security measures within their own store operations and connected systems.
Merchant rights and requests
Merchants may update app settings, disconnect integrations, request support, and contact us with privacy-related questions using the contact information below.
If a request concerns customer information controlled by a merchant, the merchant remains the primary party responsible for responding to that customer under applicable law.
